Did you get a negative Google review? Oops! Don’t panic!

Look, we get it.

When you get any kind of bad feedback, it can feel like the end of the world. But, when that feedback comes in the form of a negative Google review it can feel even worse!

After all, Google is the largest shop window on the entire internet, so you don’t really want a bad review being the first thing that total strangers see when they stumble upon your brand online!

The good news is that negative Google reviews don’t have to be the end of the world.

In fact, if you know how to deal with them in the right way, they can actually be a force for good!

Here’s our top tips for dealing with negative Google reviews:

1. Don’t panic!

The first thing to do when you see a negative review is to take a deep breath and try not to panic. It’s easy to overreact when you see something negative written about your brand, but it’s important to remember that not all feedback is created equal.

One negative review amongst a sea of positive ones isn’t going to do much damage, so try not to let it get to you too much.

2. Don’t delete negative reviews (no matter how tempting it is!)

It might be tempting to simply delete negative reviews and pretend they never happened, but that’s actually not a good idea.

For one thing, it looks really suspicious if you only have positive reviews on your Google listing! People will start to wonder if you’re censoring negative feedback, which isn’t great for your brand’s reputation.

Secondly, even negative reviews can contain some valuable insights. If you take the time to read them carefully, you might be able to spot some patterns in the feedback that you can use to improve your business.

3. Use negative reviews as an opportunity to improve your business

It’s really important to remember that negative reviews can actually be a force for good!

They provide an opportunity for you to take a step back and assess where things might have gone wrong.
